I just wanted to let you about this recovery event happening at the beginning of August. Here is a description from the team at BAC O’Connor. [The above photograph is from my last visit to BAC O’Connor in May 2024 and was taken in Langan’s Tea Rooms.]
‘This is the third annual family fun day—Recoverfest 2025—which will be held on Sunday 3rd August at Uttoxeter Racecourse. Recoverfest runs from 12-6pm and is a free entry event which is a joyous celebration uniting recovery services to honour and embrace the gifts of recovery. This vibrant event features an array of activities designed to uplift, entertain and inspire everyone in attendance.
Recoverfest is organised by a collaboration of dedicated charities in Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent, under the banners of STaRS, CDAS and SRS – STaRS (Staffordshire Treatment and Recovery Service) consists of the BAC O’Connor Centre, the O’Connor Gateway Trust, Betterway Recovery, Chase Recovery, and MPFT Inclusion. CDAS (Stoke Community Drug and Alcohol Service) and Stoke Recovery Service (SRS) are made up of BAC O’Connor, the O’Connor Gateway Trust and We Are With You.
Together, our organisations help individuals overcome drug and alcohol addiction. All our organisations support individuals both in the community and residential services equipping them with the skills and confidence to thrive, with support in education, training, volunteering opportunities, job coaching, access back into employment, building positive behaviours, building self-esteem, self-confidence and self-worth. Every individual is given the chance to recover from addiction and live a fulfilling, independent life.
Recoverfest is supported by Staffordshire County Council, Stoke on Trent City Council, MPFT Inclusion and Trent and Dove Housing. Any monies raised during the day will be split between our chosen charities, Andy’s Man’s Club and Staffordshire Women’s Aid.
